HISTORY OF THE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

The Homeowners Association was established in 2001.  Since then, homeowner meetings have been held on an annual basis and all Diamond Head homeowners are encouraged to attend.  These meetings are held each  July in the Picotte School cafeteria and free onsite babysitting is provided.

Members of the association board volunteer to serve for a 3 year term.  The terms are staggered so they do not all expire at the same time.  Each July new board members are elected at the Homeowners meeting to replace those whose term has expired.

The main focus of the board over the past few years has been getting the proposed covenants approved.  This has been a slow process and not many homeowners have taken an active interest in participating.  The board has since decided that without more homeowner support,  they are no longer going to pursue the issue.

The board has also implemented and sponsored various neighborhood activities available to all homeowners.  These include annual holiday lighting contests, Easter egg hunts, garage sales, and block parties.   A neighborhood picnic has been held in the past as well.  The board would like to expand the activities it offers and is always looking for more volunteers willing to make this happen.

Please feel free to contact the board at dhha@cox.net with any questions or concerns you may have.
