Minutes for the Diamond Head Homeowners Association Meeting
July 28, 2011 at Picotte School
Board members Michelle Mittlieder, Tami Koch, Denise Nabors, Darrell Williamson and Eric Englund introduced themselves. Michelle read the minutes from the July 2010 meeting.
SID Report
• Bruce Wilkie reported that the SID will be spending $56k on street repairs. They should begin within the next 2 weeks.
• SID had to replace 4 of 5 sprinkler timers in the landscaping. Also received some complaints about the dandelions along Blondo. Landscaping company waits for the optimum time to spray to maximize kill and the issue has since been resolved.
• Regarding annexation, Diamond Head could be on the list in the near future. SID received a letter from the city inquiring whether the neighborhood had uniform garbage collection. This was perceived as an alert that the neighborhood could be being considered.
• SID has $2 million left on the bond debt and will be paid off in 4 years. They have no $ reserves and spend about what they bring in.
• Eric Englund stated that the city wants to be more aggressive in their annexing so we may be close.
Treasurer Report
• Tami presented the treasurer report. The checkbook balance as of June 30 is 79,364.02. 324 homes have paid dues(corrected after the meeting when numbers were reviewed) and 15 homes have liens placed on them for nonpayment.
Homeowner Discussion & Questions
• Homeowner complained about the number of unrelated people living in the home across from him as well as the parties and large amount of cars they have. He is following up with the landlord.
• Homeowner complained about home next to hers that has an excessive amount of dead tree limbs/branches etc in the back yard. It was determined this is a rental property so the board will send a letter to the landlord.
• A homeowner brought up the concern about tree limbs/bushes growing through the fence along Blondo. In the past letters have been sent to those homeowners asking them to trim and the board will again send letters out to them.
• Fall garage sales will be September 10th and sign up postcards will be mailed.
